Trainer Approval

Welcome to the Course Approval section of the National Hypnotherapy Society website. This section is designed for those who are seeking training school membership.

Use this section to find out all the benefits, criteria and how to apply.

Training Course Grades

The National Hypnotherapy Society is a not for profit organisation whose primary role is the advancement of hypnotherapy, and a part of this role is the support and encouragement of all our training schools.

We believe that membership of a professional association is essential as it gives confirmation of your professional standing to both your peers and your students – and gives your school a voice in the future of our profession.

We offer different levels of individual membership that clearly explain the levels of training and other experience that individual applicants need. These levels are reflected in the different grades that we give to the courses offered by our training school members. We offer the following levels of membership.

You do not have to understand these criteria in full to make your application.

Accredited Advanced Training Courses

For those training courses that have fully demonstrated to the Society that they:

  • Build upon and exceed Accredited Standards
  • Are designed to further practitioners’ professional understanding of hypnotherapy beyond widely recognised standards
  • Develop advanced practices and specialisations

Accredited Advanced status is granted for 5 years.

Routes to Course Advance Accreditation

  1. Existing Accredited Course providers will be asked to provide full details of any course they consider to be of an Advanced level

For those training courses that have fully demonstrated to the Society that they contain all elements necessary for professional practice. This means they demonstrate:

  • Compliance with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) Learning Outcomes.
  • They provide high standards of course content and delivery
  • Development of students who are safe, competent and ethical to practice.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the HS Code of Ethics.
