Training to become a hypnotherapist

Author: HS

If you are thinking about training to become a hypnotherapist you have probably started searching online for various courses already. We know it can be a minefield working out which course might be best suited to you and what you should be looking out for, so we have provided some information below to help you.

We advise all potential students to take a lot of care when choosing a course. It is important to ensure the ethos and philosophy of the training provider is right for you and you feel comfortable with your choice. Do not be afraid to ask the training provider questions and look at as many courses as possible before making a choice. It is also a good idea, if you know what you want to do in the future, to find out what qualifications you will ultimately need and then work back from there.

Some other practical issues that you may wish to consider if you are looking for a course are:

• What is the time commitment?

• Do you want to study full time or part time?

• Your budget - and payment options available

• What qualification will you get at the end of the course?

It is also important to check whether the course has been accredited or recognised by a professional association and whether this would provide you with a route onto an Accredited Register.

The National Hypnotherapy Society accredits a number of courses across the UK and graduates from the accredited courses will have fulfilled the training requirements for our Accredited Register of Hypnotherapists.

The Society cannot recommend a specific training provider or course but we do have a search facility on our website for you to look for our accredited courses. https://www.nationalhypnotherapysociety.org/become-a-therapist/.

You can search here for all courses which have been recognised by the National Hypnotherapy Society. https://www.nationalhypnotherapysociety.org/become-a-therapist/.
